India as Guest of Honour at Bogotá International Book Fair 2026

• India will participate as the ‘Guest of Honour’ country at the 38th Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBo) 2026.
• Indian Ambassador to Colombia, Vanlalhuma, expressed gratitude and emphasised that literary exchange will serve as a bridge for deeper relations and mutual connection between people.
• Since 1988, the Colombian Book Chamber and Corferias have been organising the Bogotá International Book Fair, an alliance that has made this cultural event one of the most important in the Spanish-speaking world.
• The National Book Trust of India, for the first time, showcased a collective exhibition of Indian books at the 37th Bogotá International Book Fair 2025, held from 25 April to 11 May this year.
• Colombia and India established diplomatic relations in January 1959 and celebrated the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties in 2019.
• In March 1972, Colombia opened its embassy in New Delhi. India opened its embassy in Colombia in 1973.
