India is ready to launch its first Tesla Center on 26 November 2025 at Orchid Business Park, Gurugram, Haryana.
- India is set to begin a new chapter in its electric mobility journey with the launch of its first Tesla Center on 26 November 2025 at Orchid Business Park, Gurugram, Haryana.
- Tesla’s showroom in Mumbai is located at Maker Maxity in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). This is Tesla’s first experience center in India, opened on 15 July 2025.
- This major development came just months after the global EV pioneer officially debuted in the Indian market with its Model Y variant and opened Tesla Experience Centers in Mumbai and Delhi Aerocity.
- With this launch, India became Tesla’s 50th global market, reflecting the company’s cautious but strategic approach to entering one of the world’s most promising automotive frontiers.
Tesla launched two versions of Model Y
- Tesla officially entered the Indian market in mid-2025, launching two versions of its global bestseller, the Model Y—
- Standard Range Model Y: ₹59.89 lakh
- Long Range Model Y: ₹67.89 lakh
- Both variants are fully imported from Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory, which carries a heavy import duty of 70%, making them 30% more expensive than their US equivalents.
- Despite premium pricing, Tesla recorded retail sales of 104 units in September and October 2025 (according to FADA and Vahan portal data), indicating an early lead in India’s growing luxury EV market.
Upcoming Tesla Center in Gurugram
- The upcoming Tesla Center in Gurugram will operate as a full-service hub, including sales consultation, delivery operations, service and repair facilities.
- This will be the country’s first flagship outlet designed to handle end-to-end customer operations, unlike the experience centers in Mumbai and Delhi, which are primarily for brand exposure and customer education.
- Tesla’s India operations are now headed by Sharad Agarwal, who joined the brand in November 2025. Agarwal previously led Lamborghini India, and earlier held senior roles at Mahindra Classic Legends and Audi India.
- If demand increases, more centers may be opened in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune after this expansion.
